Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews activated to manage the extensive power failures.

Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced energy failures after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.

Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

At one point on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.

Weather Forecast

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
