I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
